AI readiness audit — a ranked, costed view of where AI fits
Two to three weeks. We map how work moves through your business, then hand you a written plan of what to automate, in what order.
What an AI readiness audit covers
Up to three connected processes within one part of the business, traced from the point work arrives to the point it is finished.
We look at the systems you pay for and what each is genuinely used for, the steps your team repeats and how often, and the points where information is carried by hand between systems — which is usually where most of the recoverable time sits.
Volume figures come from what your team reports and from sample examples. That is enough to rank three opportunities against each other reliably.
How the audit runs
What arrives at the end
- Tool and system review.
- Workflow map.
- Readiness scorecard across six dimensions.
- Opportunity matrix.
- Top three to five recommendations.
- The leave-alone list.
- 90-day roadmap.
- Written report and live walkthrough.
How we rank AI automation opportunities
| Factor | What we assess |
|---|---|
| Volume | How often the work occurs, and the hours per month it takes |
| AI suitability | Whether the step genuinely needs judgment about language, or whether a rule would do |
| Build effort | Systems involved, how varied the input is, how much testing it will need |
| Review burden | How much checking the output will require to be trusted |
Anything scoring low on AI suitability goes on the leave-alone list with a note on what would handle it more cheaply.
Timeline
| Stage | What happens | |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Kick-off | 60 minutes. We agree scope, who we speak to, and what a useful answer looks like. |
| 02 | Discovery | Three to five interviews, a look at your tools, and real examples of the work. |
| 03 | Analysis | Workflow map, readiness scorecard, and opportunity matrix. |
| 04 | Walkthrough | 60 to 90 minutes with you and the people interviewed. |
| 05 | Handover and follow-up | Written report, 90-day roadmap, and a follow-up call. |
What we need from you
- Three to five people for 45 minutes each.
- A list of the software you pay for.
- Five to ten real examples of the work.
- Rough monthly volume figures.
Around five hours in total.
Outside this engagement
- Building anything. This is a review.
- Software selection or procurement.
- Financial modeling or a formal business case.
- Volume measured from system exports — figures here come from what your team reports.
- A build-ready specification for any recommendation.
- Ongoing advisory after the follow-up call.
When the Deep Audit is the better fit
Where six to eight processes across more than one team, site, or entity are in question, the Deep Audit covers them in four to five weeks. It adds volume measured from your own system data, a cross-process view of where the same information is handled twice, readiness scored per team, a sequencing plan, and a build-ready specification for the top recommendation.
Where three processes and reported volume figures are enough to decide, this engagement is the faster and cheaper route. Compare the two →
